Being surrounded by animals in her personal life she couldn’t begin to understand how that felt and worked with her mum in supporting the start of what has now turned out to be a very popular therapy session. It’s Debbie calming and loving nature inherited from her mother that allows the animals to be confident in their environment and blossom into amazing therapeutic experiences.

Kevin the pony is her best friend and if he’s not working you will often find Betty near getting ready to take him out on a ride. Betty spends most of her mornings walking around checking the animals giving them lots of cuddles. She even has an egg round and never forgets to thank each chicken as she removes the eggs.

Teddy has show a keen interest in veterinary, which mum is hoping will continue. He has a great relationship with their vet and often helps out juring their regular health checks. His favourite thing about living on a farm is having all of the animals to play with and look after.
I have always loved animals of all varieties since a very young age. When I started my career as a photographer, I started with pets...they are often easier to work with!
I also have experience working in care homes, so when Debbie needed an extra pair of hands, I instantly jumped at the opportunity.

I find this job very rewarding, to watch clients interact with the animals and reminisce about their childhood pets is always interesting to hear.
Working with animals is an extremely fun and challenging job. I love learning about all their different needs. The experience I have with looking after the animals before, during and after visiting care homes is the highlight of my week.

I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the care home residents light up when they see us walk in. Getting to know everyone in a calm environment and listening to everyones stories is truly a gift. I've met so many lovely people through pet therapy and hope to always get residents to smile through animals.
I’m told it takes a special person to work well with the animals, I feel my calm relaxing nature helps make the therapy sessions enjoyable, but my real love is pigs! I’ve found a special place in my heart and have successfully helped find and rehome many piglets to their forever homes. I have spent a lot of time researching the kunekune breed and can even speak to them in their own language, it's true! I have trained, loved and spoilt each piglet, giving them the best start to life. I love my job and look forward to working with pet therapy for many more years.
Our dogs are our pets, they are loved on our farm and live a carefree happy life. This shows in their confidence at work and their sociability with all the other animals while present at the Therapy sessions. Spending time talking, stroking, playing allows customers to relax and enjoy the experience.
Kevin has been a therapy pony from the beginning he's a friendly pony who loves getting in a lift and visiting each floor, in fact his favourite part of the job is visiting residents in their rooms because he often gets a biscuit and cuddle.
Known for their nappy wearing and walking around homes. Over the years we have been able to introduce hatching experiences and then revisit with the chickens fully grown. All our hatches are kept or rehomed to families where they life a happy life.
A cute favourite especially around Easter time when we may have a baby...or two.
They are a great talking point with residents reminiscing and learning about their husbandry.
Born and bred on our farm. They are a small domestic breed from New Zealand called Kunekune. They are extremely friendly, later in life we rehome our piglets they are natural plowers so great for people with small holdings.
We are hobby farmers and will often have or rehome bottle fed lambs. Being so blessed allows us to share this experience with our clients and depending on the time of year we are able to offer clients the opportunity to bottle feed new born spring lambs.
